I am BEYOND excited to be writing a blog about this wedding. First off, HUGE, GIANT, MEGA thank you to Athena and Jacob for hiring me to be their wedding photographer. If you've been with me for a while, you'll know that this was my very first wedding, so it 's obviously going to hold a special place in my heart. It was an incredible day filled with so much joy and love -- it honestly reinforced my passion and love for wedding photography and hearing my couples story was probably my favorite part.

 

Athena and Jacob met six years ago at a Christmas Eve party -- this is already romance goals.  They each had a son and the connection was "instantaneous". Since then, they have grown their family by two and officially tied the knot in a gazebo overlooking a beautiful golf course on Friday. Seriously, you guys, this story is something out of a Hallmark movie. 

 

I can not even tell you how beautiful the venue was, Shadowridge Golf Club did an amazing job of putting together all the detail for the big day. From set up, to tear down, the staff was so helpful and kind the entire time. Which came in handy for the reception. These guests could dance! My husband and I even started dancing together at one point because we were having so much fun. It was a blast! Their first dance was Love Me Like You Do and it could not have been more perfect for them -- the whole day was really upbeat and fun, the first dance was no exception to this.

 

For me, weddings express so many emotions and it can be really overwhelming sometimes to try and focus on a ton of different things at the same time. I've been really blessed to have worked in a busy megachurch for a long time so coming into this career, I'm prepared, organized and actually in my element. 

 

I say this every time, but that's only because I truly mean it -- I hope you enjoy experiencing this wedding in its entirety. From getting ready to the ceremony, the reception and dancing the night away, this garden wedding located in the heart of San Diego had it all.
