First off, let me just say, I'm SO stinking excited for you, friend! I remember when I was getting married, I had no clue what to expect when it came to my photography. My husband and I DIYed everything so a lot of the last minute details fell to us. That's why I wanted to make this list. I know the struggle the morning of your wedding or even engagement shoot. You're trying not to forget anything, making sure that it's all in order so you can just go and be married! I WISH I would have had a checklist with me. So, without further a due, whether you've been engaged for two years or two minutes, here are the 10 most common items YOU should gather together before your next photoshoot.

Get Your Bags Ready!

I always pack up the night before any shoot, vacation, or event just to make sure that I have everything I could possibly need. You'll want one large enough to hold some fairly small, yet key, items. Organization is super important, especially on your wedding day, so making sure you have all of these things ready to go is crucial so you're not scrambling the morning of -- plus it makes getting those adorable detail shots super easy for your photog.

Before making this list, I did a lot of research to make sure that I didn't forget anything. Here are some common items your photog will need to shoot your detail shots. Don't worry if you don't have everything on this list, just gather as much as you can.

  1. Your engagement & wedding rings -- including the grooms.

  2. Any wedding stationary ( invitation, save the date, RSVP cards etc..)

  3. Any and all jewelry you'll be wearing

  4. Your garter

  5. Your veil

  6. Your wedding shoes

  7. Anything sentimental or borrowed (my dad passed away right before my wedding so I brought a picture of him, a red rose, and the flag they gave my mom at his memorial).

  8. Your Vows

  9. Photos of parents and grandparents weddings

  10.  Anything significant to you and your groom (My husband and I both wanted to have a shot of our rings resting on my dad's bible, but I've seen couples bring their favorite books and even succulents!
